An OTA’s business model is similar to that of a market, but it deals with a much wider range of products. Their inventory comes from every possible source, and they are the primary travel market retailers: marketplaces, direct suppliers, wholesalers, and larger OTAs After that, it is resold via their own websites with a markup or commission.

Technologies. There are three main tech components in well-digitized OTAs:

the back end, which houses the booking engine, databases, accounting, and other internal systems; and the provider side, which oversees supplier connections.
