After relaxing on the beach and purchasing some coconuts from a local stand, we took an early morning stroll to Kumu beach. The staff had arranged for a local tuk-tuk to take us to a turtle conservation center in Kosgoda in the afternoon, which was 20 minutes away by car from the hotel. One of the conservation workers took us around and showed us turtles that were just a few days old to a few years old.

He emphasized the significance of the center by describing the typical issues that turtles face and the danger they face. #Savetheturtles We were eager to visit the Bawa brother’s gardens. It was very eye-opening and enjoyable. The first is Lunaganga, where Geoffrey Bawa lived. We had lunch in the house, which is now a boutique teardrop hotel, after touring the estate.

After that, we went to Bevis Bawa’s house, Brief Gardens. There, we learned more about the two brothers’ history and got a better understanding of how they lived and worked in Sri Lanka. Both were a lot of fun.
